Notice: this website is out of date. Hi! This is my personal website from 2019-2021. It was my very first hand-coded website, and although my work, personality, and interests have outgrown it in various ways, I decided there was an archival value to keeping it up. You are more than welcome to browse, but I just wanted to let you know that it’s outdated and that you can find me here and here now. — Nico

The secret brand design

Posters for March/April/May

‘The secret’ is a concept for an experimental theatre company: the antithesis of The Public Theatre. An exclusive theatre experience for audiences of 30 people, each month the performance is completely changed, with a new production, cast, venue, and set.

King Lear-1

The challenge was to come up with a set of variable and constant design motifs to give each show a unique identity that remains cohesive with the overall brand.

King Lear-2

Variable: Each show has its own image and color, the latter applied uniformly across all materials. In addition to the color, the image is fragmented and composed in a custom way for every production.

Constant: In every show, the letters of the brand name are rarely visible together: on the set of four posters made for each show, they are scattered and hidden in excerpts of the script for that month.

The Tempest-1

The Tempest-2

Midsummer Night's Dream-1

Midsummer Night's Dream-2
