Notice: this website is out of date. Hi! This is my personal website from 2019-2021. It was my very first hand-coded website, and although my work, personality, and interests have outgrown it in various ways, I decided there was an archival value to keeping it up. You are more than welcome to browse, but I just wanted to let you know that it’s outdated and that you can find me here and here now. — Nico

Animated site: the secret

Letters fade in

‘The secret’ is a concept for an experimental theatre company, and this is the website for their monthly shows, in this case King Lear.

Words break apart as page scrolls

As you scroll up here, the words break apart and leave the scattered letters of ‘the secret’.

Scattered letters

The secret forms

The letters then come together, and the image of Lear quickly covers them up.

Site UI

At this point the site becomes fixed, and you can browse information about the show.

Fragmentation

When you click an option, the picture and brand name fragment apart to reveal the requested information in the center space.

The secret description

Merch gallery

Merch is a gallery of posters I made that showcomers would be able to purchase after the play as exclusive souvenirs. Clicking on a poster fades it out, letting you cycle through them.

April show posters

I decided to display future shows as well: after the five March posters it changes color and goes on to the April posters, and then again for the May posters.

May show posters

Ticket generation

Lastly, the ticket section lets you input a show date and your name, and generate a (free) ticket that downloads to your computer. The fragment overlayed on ‘the secret’ is randomized.
