Notice: this website is out of date. Hi! This is my personal website from 2019-2021. It was my very first hand-coded website, and although my work, personality, and interests have outgrown it in various ways, I decided there was an archival value to keeping it up. You are more than welcome to browse, but I just wanted to let you know that it’s outdated and that you can find me here and here now. — Nico

Modeling Op-ed Illustration

Digital collage

This was a personal op-ed written by New School student and model Kathryn Schmid, sharing her experience with anorexia and beauty perceptions. The images are adapted from her Instagram posts and the overlaid words are from the comment sections. Read the piece here.

COVID-19 (Feb 2020) Illustration

3 panel illustration

New School Free Press Illustration for a news article about administrative actions in response to the corona virus outbreak, and student experiences of virus-associated racism in the city.

Fashion Outsourcing Illustration

outsourcing illo

This piece reported on the controversy of Parsons fashion students professionally outsourcing tasks like sewing for their senior thesis collections.

New Parsons Dean

Dr. Rachel Schreiber

This illustration was done for a piece I also reported on, about the appointment of a new executive dean of Parsons: Dr. Rachel Schreiber. After it was published, I found out she saw it and requested to use it as a profile picture on social media.

Orthography-Style Illustrations

March issue cover illustration

A style of vector illustration I’ve been exploring, and using to make Where's-Waldo-esque graphics for The New School Free Press.

Here is my latest piece in the series, used as a cover for our March print issue. It features our university center's architecture and contains little scenes that represent each article in the issue.

Sustainability @TNS Illustration

This was for a spiked piece about how The New School tries to promote sustainability in its infrastructure. It was the first piece I had done depicting university center's distinct architecture- our art director saw it and suggested that I do another one in the same style for our March print cover.

Campus Problems Illustration

Another concept I began for a piece discussing issues on campus and tension between the administration and community.
